Objectives
The Training is intended to:

    1. Provide participants knowledge on the following:

      a. Current rabies situation (human and animal) in the Philippines
      b. Updates on clinical management
      c. Updates on rabies diagnosis
      d. On-going control programs in the Philippines

    2. Train the participants on the recommendations for animal bite management
    3. Develop/improve the participants proficiency in the intradermal administration of rabies vaccine
    4. Develop/improve the participant’s skill in the administration of rabies immunoglobulin
    5. Provide information on cold chain management
    6. Provide orientation on the completion of the DOH reporting forms in order to improve surveillance of human rabies and animal bite case

Competencies being acquired
After the training, participants should be able to demonstrate the following:

    a. Intradermal rabies vaccination
    b. Rabies immunoglobulin administration
    c. Decision making in post-exposure prophylaxis
    d. Categorization of exposures

1. 2. March 11-13, 2019 – FULL COURSE (CLOSED)

IMPORTANT NOTICE
The new WHO and DOH guidelines on animal bite management were released in 2018. All health workers who have undergone Animal Bite Training before February 2018 need to undergo a refresher course.
